DELAND, Fla. - Georgia State beach volleyball bounced back after a tough weekend out west to go 3-0 on day one of the Stetson Beach Invitational.

The Panthers (9-4, 2-0 CCSA) came out victorious against Jacksonville State, New Mexico and Morehead State. Friday’s matches marked GSU’s first-ever meeting with all three schools.

"Today is a great day to be a Panther," head coach Beth Van Fleet. "We focused on our side of the net and achieved our goals for each set. Playing three duals in a day is always a challenge both mentally and physically. We are recovering now and are looking forward to getting back into the sand tomorrow."

With victories today, Delaney Rohan and Chelsea Ross raised their overall record to 9-4 in the No. 1 flight. Haley Pa’akaula and LeeAnn Starr are tied with Ross and Rohan for the most wins on the season after the matches today.

The Panthers won 13 of the 15 matches on the day. Of the 13 wins, only one went the full length of three sets.

GSU will get back on the sand Saturday at 10 a.m. ET versus host Stetson. The Panthers will be looking to improve to an all-time winning record against the Hatters. Georgia State then matches up against FAU at 1 p.m. GSU has won six of seven matches versus the Owls.
