* Rohan and Ross are set to compete today at 12:40 p.m. ET versus USC's Jenna Belton and Jo Kremer and 3:10 p.m. ET against Pepperdine's Corinne Quiggle and Brittany Howard. The pair concludes pool play tomorrow at 12:40 p.m. ET. against South Carolina's Adrianna Culbert and Katie Smith.
* The duo earned an invite to the prestigious tournament after going 24-10 on the season in the No. 1 flight. The top two teams from each pool advance as well as the top four of the third-place finishers.
HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. – The USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships begin today in Hermosa Beach, Calif. Senior Delaney Rohan and graduate transfer Chelsea Ross will represent No. 11 Georgia State in the tournament starting at 12:40 p.m. ET.
“The USAV has stepped up for our sport,” head coach Beth Van Fleet said. “With the support of the AVCA, they've created a well-organized, highly competitive pairs championship event. We are honored to be a part of this tournament and look forward to competing against the top collegiate pairs in the country over the next three days. Chelsea and Delaney have put in the work, the reps and the effort during the year and now they get to step into the sand and simply perform. We are grateful that our administration recognized the significance of the Summer College Series and thrilled that they chose to support the beach volleyball athletes and program.”
Rohan and Ross battle Jenna Belton and Jo Kremer from this year's national champion USC Trojans at 12:40 p.m. ET. In the second match of the day, the Panthers' pair takes on Pepperdine's Corinne Quiggle and Brittany Howard. The tandem concludes pool play with South Carolina's Adrianna Culbert and Katie Smith at 12:40 p.m. ET tomorrow.
If Rohan and Ross advance, they would compete in the single elimination stage starting tomorrow afternoon.
The senior and graduate transfer earned an invite to the tournament after going 24-10 in the No. 1 flight this season. Rohan and Ross notched quality wins against pairs from Stetson, Florida State, South Carolina, LSU and FAU.
