ATLANTA- Tiffany Creamer and Brooke Weiner, and Annika Van Gunst and Teegan Van Gunst will represent Georgia State in the Bridgestone USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships this weekend in Hermosa Beach, California. The tournament will begin Thursday and conclude with the semifinal and championship matches on Saturday afternoon.

GSU’s top two duos will join 30 other pairs from around the country for the 32-pair tournament. Familiar pairs from CCSA teams such as Florida State, LSU, and South Carolina highlight the field.

The teams will be competing for a chance to represent Team USA in the 2018 World University Championship. The WUC will take place from July 9-13 in Munich, Germany and feature the top collegiate athletes from around the world.

With 26 and 25 wins respectively, Brooke Weiner and Tiffany Creamer were the only two Panthers to appear in every dual this season for Beth Van Fleet. The duo was 16-5 playing in the two flight and earned a spot on the CCSA All-Tournament Team. Creamer and Weiner also earned the AVCA Top Flight award for their outstanding play in flight two.

The Van Gunst sisters put together a 13-8 season in the number one flight for GSU. The twins defeated the number one pair from Pepperdine on March 18 and would add big wins over FAU and TCU. Annika with 23, and Teegan with 22 would rank third and fourth in wins respectively for Georgia State.
