*Georgia State Beach Volleyball travels to Columbia this weekend to take on South Carolina in a dual exhibition match.

*It will be the first of four fall events for the Panthers.

*The event will be the first collegiate play for four Georgia State freshmen.


ATLANTA- GSU Beach is back in the sand this weekend for the first of four exhibition events this fall. The Panthers will travel to Columbia, S.C. to battle the Gamecocks in a dual match on Saturday morning. Coastal Carolina and UNCW were scheduled to participate in the event, but will not compete as they continue to recover from Hurricane Florence.

The exhibition will be the first opportunity for the Panthers to see their four freshmen in collegiate play. In addition it will be the first action in a GSU uniform for transfer and Kennesaw native Kaylee McClure.

This autumn marks the second year since the NCAA has allowed teams to participate in four fall events. In addition to Saturday’s dual, the Panthers have a home date with UAB on October 13, the Gulf Shores Exhibition on October 27, and the Collegiate Sand Clash in Emerson, Georgia on November 3 to round out the fall schedule.
