ATLANTA- Another semester is in the books at Georgia State, and once again GSU Beach performed exceptionally well in the classroom. The Sandy Panthers finished with a 3.76 cumulative GPA as 15 athletes earned individual academic honors.

“This team continually set, achieved and reset standards this season,” said Beth Van Fleet. “I am especially proud of how well they performed in the classroom. This is the highest team GPA we have ever earned. Our freshmen combined for a 4.09 this semester and our juniors combined for a 4.03.”

The Sandy Panthers had nine representatives on the President’s List, reserved for students scoring over a 4.00, leading all GSU teams. All four true freshmen, Maddy Delmonte, Bailey Hatchett, Kelly Dorn, and Becky Tresham landed on the President’s List for the second straight semester.

Joining the freshmen was Bekah Brodbeck, Eden Hawes, Georgia Johnson, Ashley McGinn, and Olivia Stasevich. It was the third time finishing above a 4.00 for Johnson and Brodbeck, while Hawes, McGinn, and Stasevich all were named to the President’s List for the second time.

The team added five athletes to the Dean’s List, reserved for students who score above a 3.50 GPA. Graduate transfer Cara Guthrie earned a spot on the Dean’s List in her first semester as a Panther, joined by fellow transfer Kaylee McClure. Maddie Gordon and Mattie Johnson both earned Dean’s List honors for the second straight semester, while Kate Novack hit the 3.50 mark for the fourth time in her career.

Ashley Bauchert, Meagan McCall, and Anna Rantala were all named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, reserved for student-athletes that finish the semester with a 3.00 or higher GPA.

“It’s incredible to see the big picture come together like it did for this group this season,” said Van Fleet. “Every athlete gave it her all.”
