Ashley Beyer joins the Georgia State court volleyball coaching staff and Panther Family after a season at the University of Hartford. As an assistant coach with the Hawks, Beyer worked primarily with the outside hitters, oversaw video exchange and analysis, assisted with recruiting and helped with the program's social media initiatives.
Beyer played professionally from 2012-15 in Sweden and Switzerland and also competed for Premier Volleyball League teams from Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio during that same timeframe. Her professional career came after three successful seasons as a student-athlete at Marquette.
The Bloomington, Ill. native earned three All-Big East recognitions as a Golden Eagle, including first team honors as a junior. She was named an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention in 2010, and led Marquette to its first NCAA Tournament victory over No. 24 Western Kentucky in her senior season. Beyer also played a year at Kishwaukee College in Illinois, where she helped carry the team to its third-straight NJCAA National Championship and a 56-3 record. That same season she took home AVCA First Team All-America honors.
In addition to her accolades as a player, Beyer also had extensive experience in coaching prior to Hartford. She served as a camp coach for several groups including the Marquette Volleyball Camp, Illini Elite Camps and All-American Volleyball Camps over the course of six years. Additionally, Beyer coached a pair of youth teams while overseas in Denmark, working with the age groups 14-16 and 16-18.
Beyer received her bachelor's degree in communication from Marquette in 2012.
