ATLANTA, Ga.- The Panthers are back at home this weekend for a pair of important Sun Belt matches coupled with special events. Georgia State will battle the Arkansas State Red Wolves Friday at 6:30 pm, and host Little Rock on Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Georgia State volleyball will host alumni night Friday as the team welcomes back Panthers of the past. Saturday will see GSU honor five seniors that have had outstanding careers on and off the court.

Seniors Shae Chapman, Carley Eiken, Crystal Lee, Anna Rantala, and Sarah Renner will each take the floor for the penultimate regular season home match of their career on Saturday night. Chapman, Lee, and Rantala have combined for over 1,300 kills over the course of their careers while Eiken and Renner have dished out over 2,900 assists for the Panthers. The five have combined for 1,850 digs over the past four seasons.

Lee is currently ranked seventh in the Sun Belt with 3.08 kills per set in conference play. Renner enters the weekend in the seven spot with 8.44 assists per set. The Cedar Rapids native is just one assist away from sixth all-time in GSU history.

Georgia State’s seniors have also made an impact off the court as each of the five has garnered individual academic awards, including at least one appearance on the Dean’s List.

“Not only has this group of seniors left their mark in the record books, they have made an impact on our current and future players”, said coach Sally Polhamus. “Achieving accolades on the volleyball court, in the classroom and in life. So proud to always have them a part of the Panther Family”.

Sophomore Meisheia Griffin continues to have a big impact for the Panthers defensively. Griffin’s 1.56 blocks per set are second in the Sun Belt and rank her in the top 35 nationally.

Admission to all Panther volleyball matches is free.  As a reminder, construction of the Courtland St. Bridge is ongoing. Parking for the matches is still available via G Deck, but we encourage fans to allow extra time to navigate the construction.  If you cannot make it to the Sports Arena tune in to PantherVision or follow along with live stats.
