LAFAYETTE, LA. -- Georgia State fell 16-6 at Louisiana in Game 2 of the Sun Belt Conference series at Russo Park.

Brandon Bell homered for the Panthers (14-37, 5-21 Sun Belt), and Jake Corso and Jackson Sisk drove in two runs each.

Louisiana (24-28, 12-14) hit three home runs, including Hunter Kasuls' grand slam in an eight-run sixth inning.

The Ragin' Cajuns started the scoring as Hayden Cantrelle led off the game with a solo homer.

Bell answered for GSU, leading off the second inning with a home run down the left field line, his second of the season. But Bell's blast was the Panthers' only hit off Louisiana starter Brandon Young (3-5), who struck out 10 and walked none is six innings.

The Cajuns scored two runs in the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 6-1 before breaking the game open with eight runs in the sixth.

Georgia State managed five runs in the eighth as Corso and Sisk each hit two-run doubles, and Luke Leonard added an RBI-single.

The series concludes with an 11 a.m. CT/12 noon ET contest on Sunday.
