ATLANTA - Georgia State (3-5) gets a Friday sweep over Eastern Kentucky (5-2) and a Purdue Fort Wayne (1-7) on day one of the Bob Heck Classic.

Game One: GSU 11, EKU 1

The Panthers topped the EKU Colonels after only five innings, 11-1.

Georgia State took the lead in the bottom of the first with the bats heating up.
Â
The bats were on fire in the second inning with Panthers earning seven hits and seven runs.
Bailee Richardson (2-2, 4 RBI) slammed a 3- run homerun, her second homerun of the season.
Chloe Nadler (2-2) blasted her first home run of the season in the bottom of the third, scoring two more runs to extend the Panthers lead, 11-1.
The Colonels couldn't recover and fell in five innings.Â

Emily Hodnett (1-3) started out strong with a strike out to start the game and earned the win, pitching all five innings.

Game Two: GSU 6, PFW 5

Purdue Fort Wayne jumped out ahead in the 1
st inning, but it wouldn't last long.

With bases loaded
Chloe Middlebrooks hit a RBI single to tie up the game. With bases still loaded Purdue Fort Wayne walked in a run to put the Panthers in the lead, 2-1.

 Freshman
Ashton Schroyer doubled in the fourth inning to extend the Panthers lead by two.
Purdue Fort Wayned hit two homeruns that would tie up the ballgame in the top of the sixth inning. The Mastatdons came into the seventh inning bats ablazing scoring two more runs to take the lead on two RBI singles.

The Panthers fought through as Richardson (2-4) doubled and Goodwin advanced to third. With two runners on, Nadler grounded out but Goodwin would make it home. Two outs and down one run
Emma Yanes singles through the right side to score the tying run.

Hodnett (2-3) earned the win after relieving
Kate Kastelic in a tied seventh inning.
