Homecoming Parade and Rally Stirs Up Campus

At high noon on Thursday, the GSU Homecoming Parade hit the streets of downtown Atlanta.

The lengthy parade rolled through 16 blocks of downtown Atlanta, passing most of the GSU buildings as the students, faculty, staff and downtown workers watched the enthusiasm of the student body.

GSU's marching band led the parade with the cheerleaders leading the cheers. Many organizations decorated golf carts or other vehicles. Two floats carried the homecoming court candidates and some of the GSU student-athletes.

The parade concluded at Hurt Park where the band had gathered with the football team and Coach Curry encouraged the students to show out strong for Saturday's 3 p.m. game at the Georgia Dome.
