ATLANTA-Georgia State will conclude spring practice with a final a scrimmage Friday morning at the GSU Practice Complex.
"We've made enormous improvements in playing at a faster pace on both sides of the ball. And we've found some good players who can help us, like Mitchell Vinson," said head coach Bill Curry, referring to the walk-on outside linebacker who has caught everyone's eye this spring.
"Of course I'm not satisfied, but if we are willing to pay the price in the offseason, we have a chance to be a good football team."
Following Friday's final day of spring practice, the players are turned over to strength and conditioning coach Ben Pollard for offseason workouts.
"I don't have to tell Coach Pollard anything - he knows what we need to do," said Curry. "We've got to get bigger, stronger, faster, and if the players will listen to Coach Pollard and do what he tells him, then we will get bigger, stronger and faster."
Georgia State opens the 2012 season on Thursday, Aug. 30, hosting South Carolina State at the Georgia Dome.
