What you need to know:
* Georgia State continues its 2016 campaign with the Bruiser Showcase in Nashville, Tenn., this Friday and Saturday.
* The Panthers play two matches on Friday at 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. against William & Mary and Mercer. Georgia State finishes the tournament with a 3 p.m. match versus tournament host Belmont on Saturday.
* GSU will look to key performers Kristina Stinson, Eliza Zachary, Sarah Renner and Celeste Friesen to continue its momentum coming off a 2-1 performance at the JMU Invitational last weekend.
ATLANTA – Georgia State volleyball will continue its early season play with the Bruiser Showcase in Nashville, Tenn. this weekend. The tournament begins Friday with the Panthers battling William & Mary in the teams' 14th meeting at 11 a.m. The team will then faces in-state foe Mercer in the afternoon cap of the doubleheader.
The Panthers will play the Bears for the 40th time, with Georgia State having won 34 matches against Mercer going into Friday afternoon. On Saturday, Georgia State squares off against Belmont at 3 p.m. in the team's third and final tournament match. All matches will be held inside Belmont's Curb Event Center. The final match marks just the 10th meeting between the Panthers and the Bruins who were formally rivals in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Georgia State leads the all-time series 6-3 versus the tournament host.
Georgia State will look to its key performers from last weekend Anna Rantala, Kristina Stinson and Celeste Friesen to lead the charge in the Showcase. Stinson and Rantala were first and second on the team in kills last weekend with 26 and 24, respectively. Friesen led the Panthers in digs with 49 and really set the tempo of serve and receive for GSU.
