Volleyball Coach Mike Webster's Contract Not Renewed

ATLANTA - The Georgia State Department of Athletics announced on Wednesday that the contract of volleyball head coach Mike Webster will not be renewed for the 2010 season. A national search will begin immediately to find his successor.

Webster, who spent six seasons at the helm of the program, led the Panthers to a 16-14 overall record in 2009, while finishing 3-11 in the CAA. It was his second winning season and tied for the best record under his leadership.

"We want to thank Mike for his leadership with the volleyball team and wish him well with his future endeavors," commented Director of Athletics Cheryl L. Levick.

He finishes his career with a 70-108 record and two conference tournament appearances, the last coming in 2005. Five players earned all-conference honors under his tutelage, while his student-athletes earned 33 total all-academic honors.

Assistant coach Ada Bazin will remain in her current capacity and will be the primary contact for the program.
