Ramell Davis made his move and signed with GSU in 2009 and has been on the first two teams in school history.
The 6-7, 295-pounder's athleticism allowed the coaching staff to try him on the defensive line and at tight end before settling on him to play at offensive tackle. Big Davis had been a basketball star in high school and competed in track and field.
The South Carolina native played offensive tackle at Calhoun County, in St. Matthews, a town south of Columbia and north of Orangeburg. He made his moves and played on two state champion Saints basketball teams.
